Message: July 21, 2011, D’Leonor Hotel, Davao City

A pleasant morning to everyone.  May I greet and acknowledge: Director Cesar Pagdilao of PCAMRD, Dr. Leonor Santos of UP-Visayas and Zonal Center 3, Dr. of UP-Los Banos and Zonal Center 2, Dr. of MSU-Naawan and Zonal Center IV, Dr. Della Grace Bacaltos our Zonal Center V Coordinator, Dr. Girley Gumanao our research director, our friends and colleagues from the private sector, the academe, the national and non-government agencies, for coming here today.

The activities for today and tomorrow mark the first time that we are doing an aquatic technology roadshow.  In addition to this, is an industry forum.  The back-to-back nature of these activities provides a venue where technology generators are able to demonstrate what they have done, while the technology users and entrepreneurs can obtain ideas which can be turned into economic ventures.
We are thankful for the enthusiastic response from the different sectors.  And if your attendance here is a gauge for future economic activities, then we indeed have an auspicious event. It was mentioned that this kind of activity is being done for the first time.  This is a primary reason why our friends from the other zonal centers came.  They want to observe the proceedings for today and tomorrow so they can do it better in their own areas.  So, what is good about doing it first is that we are appreciated for what we do well, and excused for what we do wrong.

So, as we all go through these two days’ learning process, we welcome you all and we hope you will gain much from the interactions including the various presentations by our technology generators and users.

Madayaw!!!
