PANABO CITY – The Master of Arts in Basic Education (MABE), Master of Science Teaching (MST), Master in Fisheries Management (MFM), and Master of Science in Marine Biodiversity (MSMB) programs had completed the Preliminary Survey Visit (PSV) conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) last November 15 – 19, 2021.

The programs were evaluated in the following areas; (1) Vision, Mission, and Goals, (2) Faculty, (3) Curriculum and Instruction, (4) Support to Students, (5) Research, (6) Extension and Community Involvement, (7) Library, (8) Physical Plant and Facilities, (9) Laboratories, and (10) Administration. Task forces per area were formed to lead the preparation of relevant documents for evaluation. The task forces were composed of members from the programs under observation, as well as faculty and staff across institutes.

The PSV was facilitated by the Quality Assurance Office, in collaboration with the academic units and the Institute of Advanced Studies, in particular. The AACCUP accreditors were Prof. Paul R. Olvis (Mindanao State University – General Santos), Dr. Jenylyn V. Oboza (Pangasinan State University), Prof. Rosalinda P. Shariff (Mindanao State University – Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography), and Prof. Quirino G. Pascua (Cagayan State University).

Preliminary survey visits are conducted to gauge the readiness of a program for the actual accreditation survey visit. During the closing program, the accreditors commended the preparedness of the College and they also raised recommendations to help the College prepare for the formal visit.
