The Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges of Region XI (PASUC XI) convened on August 16, 2016 at the Davao del Norte State College Conference Room, Administrative Building, New Visayas, Panabo City. The meeting was headed by the regional chairperson and president of DNSC, Dr. Jonathan Bayogan. The agenda focused primarily on SUC Levelling and concerns on the upcoming Sports and Culture and the Arts festivals. Other relevant suggestions and points of improvement were also raised.
SUC XI presidents; Dr. Christie Jean Ganiera of Compostela Valley State College, Dr. Edito B. Sumile of Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology, and Dr. Irvin C. Generalao of Southern Philippines Agri-business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology were in attendance to discuss the drafting of suggested guidelines in the evaluation of documents for SUC Levelling. They were accompanied by some of the committee heads who shared ideas to attain the highest possible SUC level.
DNSC was represented by the following; Dr. Joy Picar – Head, Planning and Information Office, Melissa Dalumay – Information Officer, Mary Shiela Fuentes – Socio, Cultural Coordinator, Edison Bernaldez – Sports Coordinator, and Ian Somosot – Student Organization Coordinator.
The outcome of the said meeting will help Region XI SUCs in determining goals and establishing steps to achieve high SUC Level. According to Joint Circular No. 1-A, s. 2003 from DBM and CHED, SUC Levelling is conducted to assess the performance of SUCs in various areas, such as research, instruction, extension and management of resources.
