Heads and representatives from different state colleges and universities in the region were gathered to discuss the preparations of the upcoming First Ever Culture and the Arts Festival to be held at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), Obrero, Davao City on October 28 – 30, 2016.
Dr. Jonathan Bayogan, PASUC XI Chairperson from the Davao del Norte State College presided the meeting, while Dr. Guillermo Dimaligalig of USeP presented the proposal for the Culture and the Arts Festival. After the presentation, concerns on budgetary shares, number of teams allowed per school, and the general guidelines to be followed were asked.
The body agreed that the contributions won’t be divided equally, but will be based on pro rata scheme of sharing. The number of teams per school will be determined by their population or number of enrollees. The guidelines will be patterned after the PASUC Manual. Another meeting was proposed for the finalization of the general rules, two weeks before the festival.
PASUC XI also addressed the primary needs for the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Competitions 2016 to be conducted at Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology, Mati City on December 9 – 11, 2016.
After the presentation of the host college about the activity plan, budget proposition and list of committees, questions about the number of teams and equipment were raised. The number of teams will be determined by the total population per school, while the equipment to be used will be under the custody of PASUC XI. It was also suggested that the equipment should be given to the host college as a token of appreciation.
Other agenda tackled were queries and suggestions on NBC 461, Zonal Computerization Center, and SUC Levelling.
