PANABO CITY – The Commission on Higher Education, together with tertiary institutions, have partnered with the Department of Health to provide specified dates of vaccination to college students. This is in preparation for the implementation of limited face-to-face classes and to ensure that a significant population of students get the opportunity to be vaccinated.
Davao del Norte State College took part in this initiative and served as the vaccination site of its students last November 9 – 12, 2021. According to Nurse Gemma Cervantes, DNSC Medical and Dental Services Coordinator, the event was able to vaccinate 542 students. Out of this number, 184 were students of the Institute of Teacher Education, 182 were from the Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Good Governance, 110 from the Institute of Computing, and 66 from the Institute of Aquatic and Applied Sciences.
DNSC is already a vaccination site for numerous jab schedules even before CHED and DOH’s Sama-samang Vaccination Program for Tertiary Students in Davao Region. It is the College’s privilege to have ample resources to be able to contribute to the recovery of the Philippines from the pandemic.
