PANABO CITY – The Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA), under Davao del Norte State College’s Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Good Governance (DNSC-ILEGG), successfully completed the five-day Virtual Accreditation Survey for Level II conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP, Inc.), last May 24 – 28, 2021. The final result of the accreditation will be verified and forwarded by the evaluating agency in a few months.

The closing program started with a message from the Vice President for Academics and Research, Dr. Girley S. Gumanao. She appreciated the efforts of the accreditors and the DNSC team to still continue with the accreditation despite the pandemic. After her remarks, the accrediting team gave their observations in the following areas of evaluation; (1) VMGO, (2) Faculty, (3) Curriculum and Instruction, (4) Support to Students, (5) Research, (6) Extension and Community Involvement, (7) Library, (8) Physical Plant and Facilities, (9) Laboratories, and (10) Administration.

They mentioned the strengths of the College per area and in general, followed by their recommendations for improvement. In response, College President Joy M. Sorrosa expressed her gratitude to the accreditors for sparing their time and for their valuable inputs. She also commended the efforts of the DNSC accreditation local task force, headed by ILEGG Dean Florie Ann L. Fermil and BPA Program Chair Ronel G. Dagohoy.

The awarding of electronic certificates was administered by Mr. Armin L. Rubi, head of OHAPCISAD. The accreditors were Dr. Erly M. Martir (Team Leader, Guimaras State College), Dr. Maria Blanca S. Sy (Team Member, Jose Rizal Memorial State University), and Prof. Frances Anne A. Barcellano (Team Member, Kalinga State University). In her closing remarks, Quality Assurance Director Ma. Melanie N. Edig highlighted the value of teamwork and how everyone in a team who contributes is a champion.
