As the College continues to celebrate its 28th Charter Day, Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa delivered on Tuesday morning, February 14, 2023, her State of the College Address (SOCA), highlighting her administration’s four-year accomplishments, promises, and ways forward as she dreams to usher DNSC in becoming a university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Dr. Sorrosa proudly emphasized the school\u2019s milestones throughout the years. She mentioned that achieving goals and performing beyond expectations made DNSC on par with public and private colleges and universities in the country. With its immense effort to attain high-caliber services for stakeholders, DNSC has continued to enhance quality education, strengthen human resource development, improve the physical environment, and efficient administrative process, fortify remarkable grounds in the external linkages and international affairs, and deliver excellent and timely services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \u201cOur small efforts – policies, programs, and projects – resulted in these outcomes. These just show that we don\u2019t sleep with our promises.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Furthermore, she mentioned the ways forward and promises for the betterment of the DNSC community such as strengthening international and local partnerships, creating a successful branding strategy to make known the college, and offering new programs: BS-Criminology; BS Physical Education, BS-Agri Business, BS-Environmental Science, BS-Psychology, BS-Civil Engineering, BS-Library Information Science, BS-Data Science; Ph.D. Applied Mathematics, and Ph.D.- Applied Linguistics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            She also expressed how she envisioned DNSC becoming a university \u201cfinally, the quest is on to achieve our ultimate long-term vision to become the Davao del Norte State University (DNSU) before my term ends in 2026.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Meanwhile, Prof. Carmella Leiske from Shimane University Japan was invited to share a message during the program. She appreciated how forward-looking and innovative DNSC is, and she hopes to benchmark the best practices of the College to create or improve academic methods in her sending higher education institution.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            The program was also streamed live via the official Facebook page of DNSC on February 14, 2022. Included in the activities were the awarding of plaques and certificates of recognition to local partners. Representatives from the college\u2019s global partners also sent their greetings for the celebration through recorded videos. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
