PANABO CITY – A Memorandum of Understanding for future collaborations between Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) and the Provincial Government of Davao de Oro (PGDDO) was finalized last July 26, 2021 after Davao de Oro Governor, Hon. Jayvee Tyron L. Uy, and DNSC President, Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, signed the MOU.

Both parties agreed to collaborate in research endeavors in various fields, such as; marine and forest biodiversity, information and communications technology, data analytics, food product development, sustainable tourism, indigenous peoples’ knowledge, gender and development, geographic information system, and geo-analytics.

The province of Davao de Oro also encouraged the possible contributions of DNSC in capability enhancement for their employees. They were also willing to open the doors of their communities to become beneficiaries of extension and training programs. Additional targeted fields for extension services are aquaculture production for fish farmers, entrepreneurship and community-based livelihood, and disaster risk and resiliency management.

The signing was done in separate venues with Gov. Uy signing in the Capitol, in the presence of DDO’s ITCDD Head Joyzel R. Odi, DNSC’s Institute of Computing (IC) Dean, Mr. Mark Van M. Buladaco, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Department Chair, Mrs. Jonilyn T. Dabalos, and IC faculty member, Mr. Jovito Bolacoy, Jr. Earlier that day, Dr. Sorrosa penned her signature at the Office of the College President, DNSC campus.
