PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) and the Department of Education – Panabo City Division (DepEd – Panabo) signed two Memoranda of Agreement for the partnerships; (1) Capability Building for Alternative Learning System (ALS) Learners and Implementers and Out-of-School Youth (OSY) through Relevant Trainings in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and (2) Empowering Educators through Relevant ICT Trainings.

The signing was held at the DNSC Conference Room last August 4, 2021. DNSC was represented by College President Joy M. Sorrosa, Institute of Computing Dean Mark Van M. Buladaco, ALS and OSY Extension Project Leader Mariannie A. Rebortera, and DepEd Educators Extension Project Leader Hazel A. Gameng. The guests from DepEd were spearheaded by Division Superintendent Reynante A. Solitario, accompanied by Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (OIC) Phoebe Gay L. Refamonte, Education Supervisor Jaime C. Carlom, Education Program Specialist Joy S. Magno, and Education Program Specialist Rosebeth C. Candelasa.

DNSC and DepEd-Panabo have a longstanding partnership since 2017. The projects target to assess the ICT knowledge and skills of ALS learners and implementers, as well as public elementary and high school teachers. After the assessment, faculty members from the Institute of Computing will conduct training related to computer and digital literacy. DNSC also aims to provide Information Technology solutions, addressing the needs of the Department of Education.
