PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) and Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the advancement of Information Technology instruction, research, and extension. The ceremonial MOU signing happened at the Marine Reserve Park, Barangay Adecor, Island Garden City of Samal, last May 10, 2022.
Both institutions agreed to exchange instructional materials, facilities, and faculty expertise to promote academic collaboration. Some of the plans on research and extension were the conduct of research and training on ICT Solutions to Government Processes, Data Science and Mining, Geographics Information Systems, and more, as well as the sharing of students’ capstone projects through public forums.
DNSC was represented by College President Joy M. Sorrosa, Vice President for Academic Affairs Girley S. Gumanao, Institute of Computing Dean Mark Van M. Buladaco, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Program Chair Jonilyn T. Dabalos, and Bachelor of Science in Information Systems faculty member, Mr. Jovito P. Bolacoy.
The team from DOrSU was composed of University President Roy G. Ponce, Chief Administrative Officer Ma. Cecilia Catubig, BSIT Program Head Emmanuel Barbas, PIO AJ Aligato, and BSIT faculty members; Lanie Laureano, Jhon Inoco, Dony Dongiapon, Cindy Lasco, and Wilkin Simo.
