PANABO CITY – The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. conducted a five-day online accreditation of Davao del Norte State College’s Bachelor of Science in Food Technology (BSFT), Master of Arts in Educational Management (MAEM), and Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management (PhD EM) programs, last May 16 – 20, 2022. The accreditation was for the program’s application for Level III, Phase 1 status.

The AACCUP accreditors included Dr. Marcela T. Caluscosin (from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University), Dr. Alma I. Irader (Aklan State University), Prof. Benica S. Briones (Pangasinan State University), Dr. Nancy F. Galban (Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University), Dr. Riceli C. Mendoza (University of Southern Mindanao), Dr. Evelyn D. Taban (Nueva Vizcaya State University), and Dr. Fe S. Soriano (Pangasinan State University).

As mentioned by Vice President for Academic Affairs Girley S. Gumanao in her message of commitment during the closing program, the College values accreditation exercises because they lead institutions to continuously improve and meet the standards set by the Commission on Higher Education and other relevant agencies.

The accreditors also expressed their gratitude to the participative DNSC AACCUP local task force for responding to their calls for interviews, virtual classroom observation, plenary session, campus tour, document validation, and more. The areas evaluated were (1) Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives, (2) Faculty, (3) Curriculum and Instruction, (4) Support to Students, (5) Research, (6) Extension and Community Involvement, (7) Library, (8) Physical Plants and Facilities, (9) Laboratories, and (10) Administration.

The official result and summary of ratings from the accreditors will be submitted for technical review. DNSC will be waiting for the results in the coming months. Quality Assurance Director Ma. Melanie N. Edig mentioned the hardworking task force and technical teams behind the activity during her message of appreciation and reminded everyone that, “Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion.”
