PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide a framework on friendship and cooperation, promotion of mutual understanding, academic, cultural and scientific thought, and personnel exchange between DNSC and UiTM across multiple disciplines in communication and media studies, tourism management, agroforestry, marine sciences and fisheries, as well as other mutually beneficial modes of cooperation.

The MoU was signed by DNSC President, Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, together with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Girley S. Gumanao, and Director for Research Development, Dr. Mark Ronald Manseguiao, and institute deans. UiTM was represented by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr. Ts.  Hajah Roziah Binti Mohd Janor, CEO of iCEPS, Prof. Dr. Azizul Halim Bin Yahya, and Director of Transnational Education Department, Dr. Wan Norbani Binti Wan Noordin.

The virtual MoU signing ceremony was witnessed by the Consulate General of Malaysia in Davao, Honorable Nur Misuari Harun, who expressed his full support and confidence to this milestone between the two institutions.

With this new international engagement, DNSC hopes to enhance its international cooperation, improved the quality of teaching and learning, and position the College as the center of “Agri-Fisheries and Socio Cultural Development in the ASEAN Region.”
