PANABO CITY – The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), spearheaded the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for the 2nd quarter of the year on June 9, 2022. Public agencies and offices were invited to participate in the activity as part of the initiative of promoting resiliency among communities.
Davao del Norte State College is consistent in responding to NDRRMC’s quarterly call for disaster preparedness. College President Joy M. Sorrosa released Memorandum No. 031, s. 2022, directing all personnel who were at the campus during the 2nd Quarter NSED to perform the basic earthquake protocol; duck, cover, and hold. The digital and traditional alarm systems in the College were activated at 9 o’clock in the morning.
The College Disaster Resiliency and Management committee was in-charge of the preparations and post-evaluation of the activity. Guests and clients that were present during the time of the activity were also guided to participate in the drill.
