PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College, led by its Disaster Resilience and Management (DRM) Committee, participated in the first quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 10, 2022. The event was facilitated by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

A ceremonial pressing of the button for earthquake drill was done virtually via Facebook Live at exactly 9:00 o’clock in the morning. All government agencies, including DNSC, performed the basic earthquake response protocol; Duck, Cover, and Hold. Right after the drill, selected faculty members and administrative staff proceeded to the open court for a Lecture on Fire Safety. The activities were conducted while observing physical distancing.

The lecture was given by officers from the Bureau of Fire Protection – Panabo City. After the lecture, the participants performed a fire drill. The activity was graced by College President Joy M. Sorrosa, Vice President for Research, Extension and Production Eliseo F. Huesca, Jr., Director for Administrative Services Kenny Allan P. Benigno, Director for Executive Affairs Melissa G. Dalumay, and DRM Committee Chair Boyeth S. Pelone.
