PANABO CITY – To show its commitment on its Quality Policy Statement of providing quality, excellent, and timely services, Davao del Norte State College facilitated the ISO 9001:2015 1st Surveillance Remote Audit, last September 21, 2022.

The College’s quality management system was virtually assessed by Mr. Robert I. Jarquio (lead auditor) and Ms. Merian Domingo (support auditor), both are external auditors from SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. Some of the areas subjected to evaluation were; Top Management Context, Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management for the undergraduate program, Master in Science Teaching Majors in Biology and Mathematics for the graduate school program, Maintenance and Engineering, Student Discipline, Guidance Services, Canteen, Dormitory, Security, Customer Satisfaction and Feedback, Control of Documented Information, Internal Quality Audit, and Management Review.

During her opening message, College President Joy M. Sorrosa reiterated that, “Every audit schedule is an opportunity to regularly assess the College’s commitment to our Quality Policy Statement… We hope to continuously improve to be responsive to the ever-changing needs of everyone in the higher education landscape.”

After the assessment, the external auditors commended the College’s seamless organization of documented information, maintenance of the campus dormitory despite not having face-to-face classes, and in-house development of information systems. The auditors mentioned six observations and one minor non-conformity.

Lead Auditor Jarquio ended his closing evaluation by praising the college on its “excellent performance” all throughout the audit. Quality Assurance Director, Dr. Ma. Melanie N. Edig, gave her message of gratitude to the external auditors and to all college personnel who worked tirelessly to ensure that their processes adhere to international standards.
