PANABO CITY – The Davao del Norte State College – Technology Business Incubator (DNSC-TBI) team hosted the University of the Philippines Mindanao Growing and Developing Enterprises (UPGrADE) for a training needs assessment last April 26, 2022, 1:30 PM, at the DNSC Conference Room.

UPGrADE is a Technology Business Incubator funded by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology and Development (DOST – PCIEERD) and has been operating for years. The needs assessment will determine the areas where UPGrADE can provide support to DNSC. The UPGrADE team was headed by Project Leader Miguel Carlo Guillermo.

The activity was in connection to the College’s application to DOST’s Higher Education Institution Readiness for Innovation and Technopreneurship (HEIRIT) program, primarily designed to help HEIs meet the requirements for TBI funding. DNSC became part of the cohort institutions for HEIRIT preparatory program after passing the technical evaluation last March 4, 2022.

Present during the meeting were DNSC President, Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, Vice President for Research, Extension and Production, Dr. Eliseo F. Huesca Jr., Director for Production and Technology Business Incubator Lead, Dr. Jesebel R. Besas, Director for Research and TBI Member, Dr. Mark Ronald S. Manseguiao, and Director for Extension, TBI Member, Dr. Mariannie A. Rebortera.

The rest of the TBI team members include; Joena Marie Agod, Jovito Bolacoy, Jr., Rowell Llana (Entrepreneur in Residence, Frux Food Products).
