Davao del Norte State College, through its Internationalization Initiatives and External Linkages Office, facilitated a virtual International Collaboration Forum to discuss the current and future trends on internationalization last June 14, 2021.

PANABO CITY – The resource speakers were; (1) Dr. Wan Norbani Wan Noordin, a senior lecturer of Communication and Media Studies at the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, (2) Lee Siew Ling, an educator and facilitator of Design Thinking programs for institutes of higher learning in Singapore, and (3) Phimvalanch Moosikaphan, Director of International Cooperation Center at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Thailand.

DNSC faculty members and representatives of other internationalization offices participated in the forum via Zoom and Facebook live streaming. In his opening remarks, IIEL Coordinator Daniel Fritz V. Silvallana briefly discussed the progress of the College’s internationalization efforts through the years. He also stated that DNSC hopes to enhance its reputation as the premier Higher Institution in Agri-Fisheries and Socio-cultural Development in the ASEAN Region.

College President Joy M. Sorrosa highlighted internationalization as an imperative in achieving DNSC’s goals and in staying relevant to its stakeholders and to the ever-evolving landscape of education. The forum ended with a response on behalf of the College, delivered by the Director for Executive Affairs, Melissa G. Dalumay. She talked about how the sharing of experiences, both distinct and universal, can help institutions move forward and continue to become globally excellent and competitive.
