PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College was audited for its International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Recertification last September 22, 2021. External auditors from SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. presented the following audit results during the closing meeting; zero major non-conformance, one minor non-conformance, two observations, four opportunities for improvement, and six positive findings. The audit was conducted remotely, via Zoom.

DNSC was in full force during the preparations and the actual audit exercise. Director for Quality Assurance, Dr. Ma Melanie N. Edig, reminded the DNSC team that it would take everyone and it would take every day to ensure that the College’s processes and services are on par with international standards. Her office facilitated the recertification, supported by the College Administration, Internal Quality Audit Team, Document Control Custodians, Process Owners, Delivery Units, and all personnel.

The team of external auditors included; Ringo Pabua (Lead Editor), Thea Buenaventura, Mercedelin Flores, Anna Manlangit, Tom Boa, and Michael Matundan. Some of the areas evaluated were The Top Management Context, Curriculum and Instruction of selected programs, Research and Extension, Support Services, Control of Documented Information, Internal Quality Audit, and more. The College undergoes ISO-related activities every year as part of its commitment to continuously improve its services to its stakeholders and clienteles.

The results show its conformance to the standards set by the auditing body, the effectiveness of its management system, and adherence to its quality policy statement. DNSC will be waiting in a few months for an official overseas confirmation of its recertification.
