Davao del Norte State College is now Home of the Champions! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ’

DNSC was declared Overall Champion just this morning in the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges Region XI (PASUC XI) Culture and the Arts Festival. The competitions lasted from October 28 – 30, 2018 and were held at the RDR Gymnasium, Pavilion, Bulwagan ng Karunungan, and PTV DavNor Studio – all inside the Provincial Capitol compound of Davao del Norte. Only the Mr. and Ms. PASUC XI coronation night was staged in Robinsons Place, Tagum City.

The other participating SUCs were; the University of Southeastern Philippines – North Cluster (Host and Overall 1st Runner-up), University of Southeastern Philippines – South Cluster (Overall 2nd Runner-up), Compostela Valley State College (CVSC), Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology (DOSCST), and Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST).

The College emerged on top of the pack with 123 points in total from the following events (names of the participants and coaches will be announced in a different post):

– Painting
– Instrumental Solo Piano
– Photography
– Show Choir
– Short and Sweet Play Musical
– Short and Sweet Play Dialogue

– Pop Band
– Standard Chorale Singing

2nd Runner-up
– Charcoal Rendering
– Pencil Drawing
– On the spot Poster-making
– Pop Solo
– Kundiman

3rd Runner-up
– Folkdance
– Contemporary Dance
– Streetdance

This year’s theme is “Positioning Higher Education for Strategic Global Transformation through Culture and Arts”. DNSC doesn’t take for granted the importance of Culture and the Arts in forming a humane, character-driven and culturally-rooted society. It supports its talented students in their artistic aspirations and hopes that someday, they will be the sources of inspiring creations, whether it be through dance, pageantry, music, and visual arts.
