Poster Presentation Guidelines
- Accepted abstracts for poster presentation shall submit a soft copy of their posters in PDF (.pdf) format.
- Deadline of submission of the softcopy of the poster shall be on 20 June 2026 and submitted through the email of the FIMFS (fimfs@dnsc.edu.ph), with the following file name: POSTER_ Thematic area keyword_surname of corresponding author_first three words of abstract title.
- Poster should be illustrated in a 40 x 30 inches / 101.6 x 76.2 cm (height x width, portrait format) dimensions with labels/texts not exceeding 600 words.
- Poster sections and contents (readable from about 2 meters distance):
Title – most prominent block of text with the largest size (at least 75 pt; concise, to the point, and quickly orient the audience about the paper)
Authors and affiliation – usually placed below the title; font size maybe similar to text, includes email address of corresponding author, (see abstract guidelines) - Main Sections:
- Introduction (or Background/Rationale) – briefly presents the importance/ motivation, hypothesis, and objectives of the research
- Materials and Methods – briefly presents the procedures, preferably more of diagrams/charts and less in words
- Results – presents the key findings/points to substantiate the objectives; analysis or interpretations of facts presented; could be with subheadings to guide transition
- Conclusion – summary and significance of findings; may include area/s for further study
- References (or Literature Cited) – keep to a minimum; smaller in font size than that of text
- Poster presentations shall be printed on a tarpaulin by the author/presenter and given to the secretariat during the conference registration.
- Best Poster. One (1) best poster shall be selected across thematic area from an average score from the evaluators during the presentation using the criteria below. The Best poster should have a score of at least 64%. If there is no poster that attains a score of 64% then there shall be no declaration of Best Poster.
Evaluation Criteria
a. POSTER DESIGN AND VISUAL IMPRESSION – 15%
- Poster is attractive in terms of design, layout and neatness
- Graphics are easily viewed and related to the topic, making the material easy to understand
- The poster stimulates interest and discussion
b. OVERALL LAYOUT AND READABILITY – 20%
- Fonts are easy-to-read and vary appropriately for headings and text; use of italics, bold and indentions enhance readability
- Text is appropriate in length for audience and to the point of the project
- Background and color choice enhance readability
- There are no grammatical/spelling mistakes
c. RESEARCH CONTENT – 10%
- Research addresses an important issue in the field of study, includes goals/motivating questions that provide the project’s main idea
- Information is accurate and includes an explanation of key concepts and theories
d. RESEARCH DESIGN AND PRESENTATION OF RESULTS – 20%
- Appropriateness of research design and methodology
- Clear description of results
- Are the conclusions supported by the data and do they reflect the aims of the research?
- Is there a memorable “take-home” message?
e. OVERALL CONTENT ORGANIZATION – 15%
- Content is clearly and concisely written with a logical progression of ideas and supporting information
- Poster has a logical, intuitive sequence of information
- Cues to all information are clear and direct
