𝐃𝐍𝐒𝐂 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐂’𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐭 𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐀
Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) participated in the Southern Mindanao Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (SMAARRDEC)’s Cluster Farms and Industry Encounters through the S&T Agenda (FIESTA) on Coconut. The event took place on August 13-15, 2025, at Honey’s Hotel, Mati City, Davao Oriental, with the exciting theme “Tropical Tech Paradise: Revitalizing the Tree of Life Industry.”
The three-day event consisted of a series of activities, including Day 1: Coconut Fiesta, which highlighted the potential of the coconut industry; Day 2: Fisherfolks Forum, focusing on the concerns and innovations for fisherfolks; and Day 3: RDE Highlights, showcasing research and development achievements in agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources.
DNSC student participants brought home impressive awards from the event. James Carl Abiera and Jhon Patrick Acedo, IC students, were crowned 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 in the Same Day Edit Video Making Contest. In other categories, Jeaster Suarez and Angel Fuentes, IAAS Food Technology students, took 2𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 in the Palamiay of Coconut Delicacies with their winning pastries: coconut cookies and coconut tart. Selected faculty members from the college also participated in the Regional Symposium on RDE Highlights: Mr. Carl Joseph O. Castaneda in the poster category, and Ms. Nezel Ann Bantayan, ILEGG faculty, for Policy Pitching.
