PANABO CITY – The Master in Science Teaching (MST) and Master of Science in Marine Biodiversity (MSMB) programs under Davao del Norte State College’s Institute of Advanced Studies (IAdS) completed the First Survey Visit of external auditors from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP, Inc.) for their Level I accreditation. It was scheduled last June 20 – 24, 2022 via various virtual platforms.

During the closing program, Dr. Reynaldo V. Mollejon, team member of the evaluating group for MST, gave the parting impression, in behalf of team leader, Dr. Jane G. Cabauatan. He mentioned that the College’s local accreditation task force, faculty members, non-teaching personnel, alumni, students, and other stakeholders are the best example of the famous Henry Ford quote, “If everyone is moving forward together, success takes care of itself.” He further commended the preparation of documents and the commitment of everyone to supply additional files for the audit.

He was seconded by Prof. Rosalinda P. Shariff, team leader for MSMB, as she lauded the accessibility and ease of utilization of the College’s online structure. She appreciated the efforts and hard work of everyone. Completing the MSMB pool of accreditors was Prof. Oliver Ratunil T. Paderanga. Prof. Consuelo J. Estigoy, an accreditor for the library, gave her appreciation and awe to the efforts of the College’s library services. Dr. Hedeliza A. Pineda, AACCUP coordinator, was also in attendance throughout the accreditation period.

College officials were also given time to express their messages of support and gratitude. Dr. Girley S. Gumanao, Vice President for Academic Affairs, highlighted that accreditation exercises are important in cultivating the culture of quality and excellence, as well as to continuously provide a roster of quality programs and processes to the College’s stakeholders. Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, College President, reiterated DNSC’s commitment in delivering relevant and responsive programs. She also assured the accreditors that the college will adhere to their suggestions for improvement and recommendations. The program was capped by a heartfelt message given by Prof. Armin L. Rubi, APCISAD head, mentioning all committees and personnel who worked hard for the success of the accreditation.
