PANABO CITY – The Gender and Development Focal Point System (DNSC-GAD) and the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) spearheaded the conduct of the Webinar on Gender Fair and Inclusive Language last January 19, 2022, at 1:00 PM, via Zoom.

Faculty members and administrative staff attended the event in order to improve the College’s collective understanding of how to eradicate sexist remarks and gender microaggressions. The resource speaker was Rosena D. Sanchez, Independent GAD Consultant and an accredited GAD resource person by the Philippine Commission on Women.

Some of the highlights of the webinar were the discussions on the need to implement the use of gender-fair and inclusive language in the workplace and in classrooms, instances where women and other marginalized groups can be deemed invisible through the use of language, and guidelines on ensuring a more gender-inclusive environment. The participants were evaluated after the topic through an interactive application of the guidelines. The DNSC-GAD is headed by Sadie D. Law-ay, while the HRMO is led by Raquel J. Edjec.
