Davao del Norte State College will celebrate its 30th Charter Day on February 14, 2025.
This annual event honors DNSC’s rich history and enduring mandate: “to provide higher professional, technical, and specialized education; promote research, extension services, and advanced studies; and foster progressive leadership in education, engineering, arts, sciences, fisheries, and other relevant fields” (Republic Act No. 7879, Section 2).
The celebration is not only a tribute to the College’s past achievements but also an opportunity to chart its future aspirations. Reflecting on its journey serves as a powerful reminder of how far DNSC has come and how much further its impact can inspire and uplift others.
About the Theme
The theme’s first part highlights the 30-year journey of Davao del Norte State College since its transformation in 1995 from a secondary and post-secondary school into a higher education institution. These three decades represent a remarkable period of growth, resilience, and progress, achieved despite the challenges of an ever-evolving world and educational landscape.
The term “thriving” embodies DNSC’s vitality and its unwavering commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. It reflects a community where individuals not only live well but also support one another and collectively experience growth and development. This thriving spirit defines DNSC’s culture and its aspiration to uplift and empower all those it serves.
“Inspiring change” means igniting passion and purpose to drive positive action. In a state college, “creating futures” highlights the institution’s role in empowering individuals and communities, generating and shaping opportunities, and building a brighter tomorrow through education, research, extension, and public service. It focuses on equipping students to lead, adapt, and thrive while contributing meaningfully to society.
Celebration Colors
The pearl and green colors hold special significance for the 30th Charter Anniversary of Davao del Norte State College. The pearl represents the 30th anniversary, as this milestone is traditionally associated with a “pearl jubilee”. It symbolizes wisdom and resilience.
Green, on the other hand, represents growth, vitality, and sustainability—key elements of DNSC’s mission to nurture the youth and uplift communities. It also reflects the institution’s strong connection to nature, particularly its focus on agricultural, environmental, and fisheries-related education and research. Darker shades of the primary colors in the palette have been incorporated to ensure their adaptability across various materials.
