Panabo City – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) has been positioned 64th among all higher education institutions in the Philippines, third among State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in Region XI, fifth among all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Davao Region, and 3,690th out of over 31,000 institutions ranked worldwide in the latest Global Webometrics Ranking of Universities.

The ranking system, recognized as one of the world’s most comprehensive university ranking methodologies, evaluates institutional performance based on digital presence, academic influence, openness, and global visibility. It aims to measure a university’s impact beyond traditional metrics by focusing on its digital footprint and the online dissemination of knowledge.

The overall ranking is derived from three primary indicators, each reflecting a distinct facet of an institution’s online and academic influence.

The first indicator, Visibility, carries 50% of the total weight and measures the impact of web content based on the number of external networks linking to the institution’s webpages. DNSC placed a strong 3,164th globally in this category. This high score, sourced from Ahrefs.com, indicates robust external engagement and a solid digital reputation.

The second indicator, Transparency, which accounts for 10% of the total score, assesses the online visibility of highly cited researchers. Using data from Google Scholar profiles, DNSC was ranked 6,907th in this measure.

The final category, Excellence, focuses on high-quality research output and counts for 40% of the ranking. This metric tallies research papers published in top-tier journals. With data sourced from Scimago/Scopus, DNSC achieved a rank of 18,404th.
