Panabo City – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) conferred the Gawad Bai on Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Reir Erlinda E. Cutad, in recognition of her service and leadership in institutional administration. The award was presented during the college’s flag-raising ceremony at the DNSC Gymnasium on March 23, 2026.
The recognition is part of the college’s celebration of National Women’s Month, during which DNSC honors women leaders whose work has contributed to the growth and development of the institution. Similar recognitions are scheduled every Monday throughout March.
This year’s observance carries the theme “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society”, emphasizing that the advancement of gender equality requires collective action and shared responsibility.
The subtheme, “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”, draws inspiration from the Babaylans, pre-colonial Filipina leaders whose leadership was rooted in wisdom, empathy, and moral authority.
The annual celebration is anchored in Presidential Proclamation No. 227 (1988), which designates March as Women’s Month, and Republic Act No. 6949, which declares March 8 as National Women’s Day. The observance also aligns with the global commemoration of International Women’s Day, which promotes gender equality and women’s empowerment worldwide.
