PANABO CITY — Students from Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) secured top finishes in a national programming competition for women during the 26th Philippine Computing Science Congress held April 23–25, 2026.

Leading the delegation, Institute of Computing student Nerie Anne Perez placed 2nd in the Individual Category, while the DNSC team composed of Perez, Aira Rocel Nazareno, and Ruzzel Mae Padrones also finished 2nd in the Group Category.

The competition, held on April 23 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, was a highlight of the congress and was organized by the Special Interest Group for Women in Computing in collaboration with CodeChum. It gathered female student programmers from across the country to compete in a team-based format using programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, and Python.

The students were coached by Queen Angelica Gado and Hannah Mae Lolong, whose guidance supported the team’s preparation and performance.

The 26th Philippine Computing Science Congress, organized by the Computing Society of the Philippines in partnership with the University of the Immaculate Conception, brought together educators, researchers, and students nationwide to exchange knowledge and advancements in computing and information and communications technology (ICT).
