
PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College, through the Curriculum and Instruction Division (CID) and the College Curriculum Committee, conducted a Capacity-Building on Navigating the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Program Management and Evaluation System on May 7, 2026, at the Gender and Development Conference Hall.
Serving as resource speakers were Dr. Mark Van M. Buladaco, Dr. Paquito A. Relox, and Dr. Ma. Melanie Edig, who guided participants through the requirements and procedures involved in CHED program evaluation and compliance.
In her opening message, Dr. Leonida P. Piorac, CID Director, emphasized the importance of proactive preparation in accelerating the institution’s Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) journey.
She also discussed the role of the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) in evaluating program readiness, “The role of RQAT is to assess the compliance of tertiary education programs with national standards. The second is to recommend ways and means for program offerings not only to comply with but also to exceed the standards.”
Among the new programs involved in the preparation are the Bachelor of Human Services, Bachelor in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Filipino, and Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies.
