PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College, through its Job Placement Unit, conducted a Virtual Talk on Career Preparedness on June 16, 2026, via Microsoft Teams and Meta livestreaming.
The activity provided graduating students and alumni with knowledge on government support services as they transition from school to the employment world. The virtual activity brought together partner agencies from the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Panabo, PESO Davao del Norte, PhilHealth, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region XI.
PESO facilitated a Pre-employment Seminar for Local Applicants, discussing effective job search strategies, application requirements, interview preparation, and workplace expectations. Participants were also oriented on the First-time Jobseekers Assistance Act, which grants qualified first-time job seekers free access to government-issued pre-employment documents, helping reduce the financial burden of securing employment.
Representatives from PhilHealth introduced the YAKAP Program, explaining its benefits, healthcare coverage, and the importance of social health insurance as graduates begin their professional careers. The Department of Migrant Workers reinforced the government’s Anti-Illegal Recruitment Campaign, educating participants on the risks of fraudulent recruitment schemes, the proper channels for overseas employment, and measures to protect aspiring overseas Filipino workers.
DOLE Region XI facilitated the Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS) and Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS), providing participants with practical knowledge on workers’ rights and responsibilities, labor standards, employment contracts, workplace ethics, and career development.
