PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College conducted its ISO 9001:2015+Amd1:2024 Internal Quality Audit from July 6 to 10, 2026.
The opening program was held at the Gender and Development Conference Hall, while the closing meeting was conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams. The activity gathered members of the College Management Team, Delivery Unit Heads and Process Owners, Internal Quality Audit (IQA) Team, and Document Control Custodians.
In her opening message, Quality Assurance Director Joena Marie A. Martinez announced, “As part of our commitment to raise the standards of educational excellence, the College is planning to integrate the ISO 21001:2025 Educational Organizations Management System (EOMS) into our certification, hopefully beginning next year. This decision reflects our aspiration to further align our systems with the needs of educational institutions and as a requirement for SUC leveling. While this journey will require collective preparation and commitment, we hope that with the same teamwork that has sustained us over the past 10 years, we will successfully embrace another milestone.”
Throughout the five-day audit, the team assessed the College’s compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015+Amd1:2024, evaluated the effectiveness of established processes, and identified areas for continual improvement.
During the closing meeting, the audit team presented its findings, highlighting numerous positive practices observed across the College’s offices. The auditors likewise identified opportunities for improvement and several observations that could further strengthen institutional processes. The audit also recorded two minor nonconformities, which will be addressed through the College’s corrective action process in accordance with its Quality Management System. The IQA team was able to evaluate 46 audit areas.
College President, Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, commended both the auditors and process owners for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability, “I am proud that we have already taken ISO as part of DNSC’s lifestyle. I also commend the openness of process owners to accept the feedback of the auditors, and that goes to the auditors as well.”
