PANABO CITY – The Governing Board of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) convened for its Second Quarter (126th) Regular Board of Trustees (BOT) Meeting on July 23, 2026, at the Gender and Development Conference Room to deliberate on key institutional matters for the College.

Presiding over the meeting was Hon. Desiderio R. Apag III, D. Eng., PCpE, ASEAN Eng., Commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Chairperson of the DNSC Board of Trustees. Joining him was DNSC President Joy M. Sorrosa, who served as Vice-Chairperson of the Governing Board.

Also in attendance were Hon. Renato Jude P. Digao, representing Hon. Emmanuel Joel J. Villanueva, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Higher, Technical and Vocational Education; Hon. Anthony S. Sales, Regional Director of the Department of Science and Technology Region XI; Hon. Priscilla R. Sonido, Regional Director of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development Region XI; Hon. Janet T. Matuguinas and Hon. Juris D. Perez, Private Sector Trustees; Hon. Samuel A. Plando, Faculty Trustee; Hon. Glenne B. Lagura, Alumni Trustee; and Hon. Johannah Aliah Beltran, Student Trustee.

Prior to the formal opening of the meeting, Beltran, the newly elected Federal Student Government (FSG) President, formally took her oath as the Student Trustee. The Board also welcomed Dr. Melanie N. Edig, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Reir Erlinda E. Cutad, Vice President for Administration and Finance, as resource persons. Mr. Jeremy B. Barnido served as Board Secretary.

As part of the meeting agenda, President Sorrosa presented the President’s Report, highlighting significant institutional accomplishments, ongoing initiatives, and strategic developments undertaken by the College during the reporting period. The report provided the Governing Board with updates on the College’s academic, administrative, research, extension, internationalization, and quality assurance initiatives to support informed policy and governance decisions.
