PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College dancesport athletes bagged three gold medals and one bronze medal in the Kadayawan 2026 Mindanao-wide Dancesport Competition organized by the Regional Dancesport Council of Davao, in collaboration with the University of the Philippines Mindanao–Department of Human Kinetics.
In the Standard Discipline, Jan Anthony Saludar, a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management student, and Kayemaxime Catapan, a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems student, captured gold medals in the Tertiary Regular Couple C, Tertiary Intercollegiate, and Amateur categories.
Ian Nov Torotoro, Bachelor of Physical Education student, and Rhyzel Vynia Traya, Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management student, were also awarded the bronze medal in the Tertiary Latin Dance Beginner Couple D category. The pair also placed fourth in the Latin for Intercollegiate Category.
The DNSC dancers competed under the guidance of coaches Ian S. Somosot and Michael Andrei A. Sameon.
