DNSC rated Excellent by COA in Financial Management Performance

PANABO CITY — Davao del Norte State College received an “Excellent” rating in the Financial Management Performance Assessment of the Commission on Audit (COA) Region XI. The result was presented during the 2026 Calendar Year Entrance Conference, held via Zoom on September 7, 2026, as COA Region XI commenced its audit activities for the year.

The annual audit covers the College’s financial statements and examines its internal control environment, risk assessment, control activities and risk responses, monitoring, and information and communication channels through the Agency’s Internal Control Checklist.

The rating is significant for DNSC as a state-run higher education institution, where strong financial controls help ensure that public funds are properly managed, accounted for, and used in support of the College’s mandate, programs, and services.

For the College, the result also provides an external assessment of its existing financial systems and a basis for sustaining and strengthening its practices.

“While we are encouraged by this result, we remain mindful that there is always room to learn, improve, and serve better. We thank everyone who has been part of this journey and remain committed to being responsible stewards of the resources entrusted to us,” said Dr. Marck Lester Navales, Director for Finance Services Division.
