Daloy Sinalayan Cultural Ensemble (1)

PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College’s Daloy Sinalayan Cultural Ensemble won 1st Runner-up in the Indayog sa Isla Open Mindanao Folk Dance Competition on September 14, 2026, at the Babak Night Market, Island Garden City of Samal.

The ensemble performed “Pingga-pingga” under the coaching of Michael Andrei Sameon and Sociocultural Affairs Coordinator, Ian Somosot. Representing DNSC were students Cris Lorenz Pascua, James Tabal, Hubert Aldrin Olog, Ian Nov Torotoro, Cyrill Niño Villaceran, Armar Amores, Gian Jasper Guisehan, Jay Luther Dongiapon, Arvie Paler, and Lawrence Ardel Royo, alongside alumni Jessjie Deriada and Alden Pradia.

The achievement came a day after the ensemble also placed 5th in the Sayaw sa Isla Open Mindanao Hiphop Dance Competition on September 13.

The back-to-back finishes showcase the versatility of Daloy Sinalayan in both traditional and contemporary dance, showcasing DNSC’s commitment to developing student talent and promoting Philippine cultural heritage through performance.
