Davao del Norte State College is Hiring!  

PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) and the Department of Science and Technology Davao Region (DOST-XI) have entered into a partnership to advance inclusive development through science and innovation.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), signed by DNSC President Joy M. Sorrosa and DOST-XI Regional Director Anthony C. Sales, on July 21, 2025, formalized the launch of the projects: Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) and Grassroots Innovation for Inclusive Development (GRIND) for the Marginalized Communities in Davao del Norte.

The projects aim to empower vulnerable and underserved sectors across the province by implementing targeted, science-based interventions. Specifically, the project will conduct training on nutrition and meal management for parents of children with disabilities; provide computer literacy training for Science and Mathematics teachers; deliver skills training to support livelihood development; contribute to the implementation of the province’s livelihood programs; organize a Gender and Development seminar for Persons with Disabilities; and support the capability enhancement of LGU Carmen in disaster risk communication and early warning systems.

Representing DNSC during the signing were Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa and Dr. Mariannie A. Rebortera, Director for Extension Services. Present on behalf of DOST-XI were Ms. Leselle Abatol, Ms. Judy Donna DA. Nueva Ecija, Ms. Althea G. Rojo, and Mr. Armand Jake C. Laparan.

Through the CEST and GRIND programs, both institutions aim to create self-reliant, resilient communities capable of addressing local challenges and sustaining long-term development.
