PANABO CITY – Officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) visited Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) to initiate discussions on possible collaboration in systems development and digital operations.

The DFA delegation was composed of Maria Agnes M. Cervantes, DFA Mindanao Assistant Secretary; Al-Bari B. Macalawan, Acting Director; and Mark Ray H. Gil, Protocol and Security Officer. They were received by DNSC officials led by Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, SUC President III, along with Dr. Reir Erlinda E. Cutad, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Dr. Mark Van M. Buladaco, Institute of Computing Dean; and Mr. Jovanne C. Alejandrino, Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Program Chair.

During the dialogue, DFA representatives shared their intention to develop an operational system and related applications to improve their processes. In response, Dr. Cutad presented DNSC’s procurement management system, which contains similar features to what the DFA requires. The presentation opened opportunities for future collaboration and partnership, particularly in the area of customized system development.

As a concrete next step, both institutions agreed that DNSC will provide a government-to-government contract for the proposed system development, subject to review and evaluation by the DFA.
