4 x 100 Meter Relay (Men and Women)
- The participants of the Relay are employees of Davao del Norte State College.
- Participants will be competing in teams and each team must consist of four players.
- Each participant in a team is positioned on a circular track equally.
- The lead-off runners in the race start off in starting blocks.
- The lead runners hold the baton in one hand and take off when they hear the starter gun.
- Each team assigns the number of runners within the team with numbers 1,2,3 and 4. The runners must run in order. Players cannot deviate from their order, or the team will be disqualified.
- The runner must carry the relay baton with them the entire run until it passes to the next runner on the team.
- In case the runner leaves the starting blocks earlier the gun fires a second time to indicate a false start, and the race must start again.
- If a runner makes a second false start, the team is disqualified from the race.
- Each runner must run with a baton in hand and stay in their own lane.
- After each runner runs the course and passes the baton to the next runner.
- Runners must remain in their lanes after the passing to avoid blocking other runners, if the runner transfers to another lane he/she will be disqualified.
- Runners must not wear gloves or place substances on their hands to avoid a better grip on the baton.
- The team will be disqualified if the runners drop the baton while passing to the next runner.
- The first team to legally and successfully complete the three (3) separate baton passes and have its last runner cross the finish line will be considered as winner.
Mechanics
100- and 200-Meter Run (Men and Women)
- The participants of the 100- and 200-meter run are employees of Davao del Norte State College.
- Athletes line up in individual lanes on starting blocks.
- The starter gives commands: “On your marks,” “Set,” and then fires the starting pistol.
- A false start, results in a disqualification for the offending runner.
- Each runner must stay within their designated lane throughout the race.
- Stepping on the lane line is considered a lane violation and can result in disqualification
- The winner is determined by the athlete whose torso crosses the finish line plane first.
Other Rules
- Athletes must wear running shoes and proper attire.
- Any form of external assistance, such as physical contact with another runner or receiving outside help, is prohibited.
- Obstructing another runner intentionally can lead to disqualification.
