Panabo City — Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) participated in the 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) led nationwide by the Office of Civil Defense at exactly 4:00 p.m. on September 11, 2025.

Within the campus, the Office of the College President mobilized the Disaster Resiliency and Administration Committee (DRAC), alongside the Student Emergency Response Team (SERT), to ensure a coordinated execution of earthquake safety protocols. Stakeholders across the College carried out standard procedures such as “duck, cover, and hold”, proper evacuation through designated routes and sites, as well as first-aid and psychological response to simulated injuries.

Highlighting its proactive stance, DNSC also sent members of its DRAC to observe the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) in Nabunturan on the same day. The exposure enabled the team to learn from established communication practices during disasters, with the goal of enhancing DNSC’s own crisis response strategies.

DNSC officials emphasized that earthquake drills are more than compliance, they are vital exercises that embed a culture of preparedness and resiliency in schools. By training students, faculty, and staff to act quickly and efficiently during emergencies, the College strengthens its capacity to protect lives and ensure continuity of learning even in times of disaster.
