
PANABO CITY – Students from Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) bagged two awards at the 2025 Regional Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Convention and Data Festival, held on September 15–16 at the SMX Convention Center, Lanang, Davao City.
Adrian James D. Pingot showcased statistical data through short-form video content designed for the TikTok platform, earning third place in the StatisTiktok Making Contest. Jayson S. Balbiran secured third place in VizWiz: Turning Data into Visual Representations after impressing judges with his data visualization skills.
The DNSC delegation also included students Heart F. Barlizo, Hubert Eleazar M. Debalucos, Loijay Jan D. Gil, Patrick Jan D. Cabasan, and coach Hannah Mae C. Pamilgan.
Themed “Ready, Stat, Go!”, the convention, facilitated by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), emphasized the role of community-based data in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in poverty reduction, inclusive education, and building resilient communities. DNSC’s participation and recognition underscore its commitment to fostering statistical literacy and youth engagement in nation-building.
