PANABO CITY – Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, President of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), joined the delegation of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) during a Courtesy Call on the newly appointed Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Higher, Technical, and Vocational Education, Hon. Loren B. Legarda, held at the Manila Polo Club.
Representing DNSC and the state universities and colleges in the Davao Region in her capacity as PASUC XI Chair, Dr. Sorrosa participated in the discussions that centered on key concerns affecting the higher education sector. The meeting provided an opportunity for PASUC leaders to have an initial engagement and introduction with Senator Legarda.
In a post on one of her official social media pages, Sen. Legarda expressed her commitment to public service and effective leadership in her newly appointed roles, “I step into these roles with conviction as the newly elected Chairperson of the Committees on National Defense and Security, Peace, Unification and Reconciliation; Accounts; and Higher, Technical, and Vocational Education. More than just titles, they serve as platforms to strengthen our defenses, ensure fiscal integrity, and uplift every Filipino learner… I take this mandate seriously, recognizing that each committee has the power to improve and empower the lives of our people.”
