PANABO CITY — Davao del Norte State College’s Job Placement Office (DNSC-JPO) was recognized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) as one of the nominees for the 2024 National Search for Best PESO Award under the Job Placement Office (JPO) Category. The recognition was conferred during the 25th National PESO Congress held on October 15 – 17, 2025, at the Taal Vista Hotel, Tagaytay City.
Plaques of recognition were presented to Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, DNSC President, as the head of agency; Ms. Maricielo Paula E. Funa, as the head of the Job Placement Office; and to the DNSC-JPO team for their exemplary contribution to advancing employment facilitation and career development services in the College.
With the theme “PESO: Dalawampu’t Limang Taon ng Matatag at Maayos na Paglilingkod tungo sa Bagong Pilipinas”, the event celebrated 25 years of PESO’s commitment to efficient, inclusive, and transformative employment services across the nation.
In his message, DOLE Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma commended all nominees and participants for their dedication and perseverance in public service, “To the nominees and participants, you are stark reminders that despite challenges and obstacles, excellence is attainable. May you serve as models to other PESOs to emulate.”
The recognition is another milestone for Davao del Norte State College as it continues to strengthen its Job Placement Office initiatives, bridging education and employment, and ensuring that DNSC graduates are equipped to thrive in an ever-changing work environment.
