PANABO CITY – In a vibrant celebration of culture and heritage, Davao del Norte State College, through its Internationalization Initiatives and External Affairs Office, partnered with Davao de Oro State College for a virtual event showcasing Filipino Arts, Stories, and Traditions, dubbed the FAST sessions.

This event was part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Month 2024, celebrated every August, under the theme “ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience.” It was made accessible via Microsoft Teams on August 30, 2024.

The celebration featured eight sessions led by resource persons who explored various aspects of Philippine culture, including Tourist Spots, Food and Cuisine, Basic Filipino Language, Tribes and Dances, Agriculture, Local Stories, Indigenous Peoples, and Music.

More than 250 participants from the host institutions, local and international partners, and members of the Asia Technological Network (ATU-NET) attended. The attendees came from ASEAN countries including Bangladesh, Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

This Cultural Enhancement Program enriched the experience of all participants, fostering a sense of respect and understanding for the diverse cultures, traditions, and heritage of the world. The FAST sessions became a platform for sharing and appreciating the unique traditions, values, and histories that shape the Filipino identity.

Although brief, the session aimed to contribute to breaking down stereotypes and building trust for a more inclusive and harmonious global environment.
