PANABO CITY – The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP), an established evaluation body for educational institutions, conducted its first survey visit for six undergraduate programs at Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) from November 25 to 29, 2024, via virtual platforms.
The programs under review included Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BAComm), Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS), Bachelor of Science in Disaster Resiliency and Management (BSDRM), Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BSEntrep), Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW), and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM).
“I accept and commit to addressing the recommendations and suggestions provided by our accreditors. The accredited programs have demonstrated their strengths, which we will continue to build on while focusing on identified areas for improvement,” pledged College President Joy M. Sorrosa during the exit conference.
The accrediting team was led by Dr. Reynaldo T. Gelido, AACCUP coordinator, with the following evaluators: Dr. Geraldine V. Darao and Dr. Marietta B. Arinto for BAComm; Dr. Sheila Marie M. Matias and Dr. Teresita R. Tolentino for BSIS; Dr. Rene N. Rabacal and Dr. Adrian P. Ybañez for BSDRM; Dr. Joy N. Savellano and Dr. Arjhel V. Domingo for BSEntrep; Prof. Cherry M. Dycoco and Dr. Ma. Vida Teresa O. Sales for BSSW; and Dr. Aimee Grace M. Madlangbayan and Dr. Shane H. Oteyza for BSTM. Prof. Mariter S. Asur served as the overall lead accreditor for all programs.
The evaluators commended the programs for their state-of-the-art facilities, strong faculty expertise, and well-structured curricula. They also recommended areas for improvement, including the development and publication of instructional materials, more management training tailored to program needs, regular evaluation of student services, and library-related research initiatives to support knowledge generation.
If deemed qualified, the six programs will receive Level 1 Accredited status, valid for three years.
