DNSC turnover of sewing machine

PANABO CITY — The Cagangohan Garments Association received livelihood equipment from the City Government of Panabo, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), with Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) facilitating the initiative, during a turnover ceremony on August 11, 2026.

The assistance benefited 30 association members and included 10 sewing machines, six sergers, heavy-duty scissors, fabric, flat irons, and ironing boards to support garment production and livelihood activities.

The project aims to strengthen the association’s production capacity, enable members to develop and market their products, and establish a more stable source of income.

The turnover was attended by PESO Manager Cherelle B. Espinosa, DNSC representative Maricielo Paula C. Funa, selected DNSC Student Development and Services Division personnel and faculty members, Barangay Cagangohan officials, association members, and Executive Secretary Jo-anne Relampagos-Capuyan, representing Panabo City Mayor Jose E. Relampagos.

Ms. Funa expressed DNSC’s appreciation to the City Government of Panabo and City PESO for supporting the association, noting that the initiative originated from a vision of the DNSC Institute of Teacher Education as an extension project. The initiative has since expanded into a collaboration with the DNSC Student Development and Services Division, which will support the project’s preparation, implementation, and monitoring. DNSC will also help connect the association with potential partners and technical experts to further support its livelihood activities.
