Davao del Norte State College is Hiring!  

PANABO CITY – The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has issued the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) to the Doctor of Philosophy in English Language Studies and Teaching (PhD ELST) and Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education (PhD SciEd) programs of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), under its Institute of Advanced Studies.

The issuance follows a Hybrid Joint Technical Panel–Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) evaluation conducted on October 20, 2025, which assessed the College’s readiness to offer the advanced degree programs.

The College, under the leadership of President Joy M. Sorrosa, continues to strengthen its graduate education offerings through quality assurance and adherence to national standards. The Institute of Advanced Studies is headed by Dean Nickel Jean L. Sastine.

Leading the respective programs as chairpersons are Dr. Leo R. Rayon, Jr. for PhD in English Language Studies and Teaching, and Dr. Mercedita E. Floro for PhD in Science Education.

Prior to the COPC application, both program proposals underwent a comprehensive review by the College Curriculum Committee to ensure academic rigor and alignment with institutional and regulatory standards. The committee was chaired by Director for Curriculum and Instruction Leonida P. Piorac, with Vice President for Academic Affairs Girley S. Gumanao serving as vice chair.

Committee members included Dr. Nickel Jean L. Sastine, Dean of the Institute of Advanced Studies; Ms. Felicidad L. Forro, Director for Records and Admission; Dr. Ma. Melanie N. Edig, Director for Quality Assurance; Ms. Paulina T. Baba, Head Librarian; and Prof. Sadie D. Law-Ay, Gender and Development Focal Person.
