PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), through its Finance Services Division, has collaborated with the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) – Panabo City Branch to install a new offsite Automated Teller Machine (ATM).

The inauguration event took place on September 11, 2024, and was attended by DNSC top management, led by College President Joy M. Sorrosa, LBP-Panabo officials including Department Manager Rolan J. Quiños, and Barangay New Visayas representatives, with Barangay Councilor Hon. Jose F. Anuego in attendance, on behalf of Barangay Captain Mark Eduard B. Peñas.

The new ATM is strategically located in one of the commercial spaces within the DNSC Science building, making it easily accessible to the public. Pres. Sorrosa highlighted the benefits, stating, “This will help the DNSC community because we now have more than 8,000 students and almost 500 employees. This will also make banking transactions accessible to the residents of New Visayas, our home barangay.”

Mr. Quiños expressed LBP-Panabo’s gratitude for the partnership: “We are committed to improving our accessibility. Aside from our machines in the branches, we have offsite ATMs like this in strategic areas and 7-11 stores.”

Hon. Anuego shared his excitement on behalf of the community, “Garbo pud sa atong barangay nga naa na ning bag-ong ATM kay makatabang kini sa atong mga residente, labaw na ang mga senior citizens, na maglisod og adto sa siyudad.” (We are proud that our barangay now has this new ATM as it will help our residents, especially the senior citizens, who find it difficult to go to the city.)

The event concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a demonstration of the ATM’s features, followed by a campus tour for the visiting dignitaries.
