PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) reaffirmed its commitment to a quality-driven institutional culture through an ISO 9001:2015 Awareness Training, conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams, on June 17, 2025.
Engr. Zyrus A. Oyong, an ISO consultant from JBDC Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment Consultancy, guided participants through the structure, intent, and practical application of ISO 9001:2015. These included the 2024 amendments that reflect emerging global priorities such as climate change relevance and risk-based thinking.
Central to the discussion were the Quality Management Principles, from customer focus to relationship management, presented not as abstract ideals but as actionable values that must inform everyday decisions and practices at DNSC.
Also covered were strategies for identifying and managing risks and opportunities. Participants were reminded that while climate change may not directly affect every process, its relevance must be assessed and justified in documentation, a reflection of ISO’s alignment with global sustainability goals.
The next activity will be the Coaching and Mentoring to Document Control Custodians scheduled for June 30, 2025, also to be held via MS Teams.
