PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College continued its disaster preparedness efforts as part of its adherence to Republic Act No. 10121, otherwise known as the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2016 and Republic Act No. 11058, or the Act Strengthening Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards.

On March 25, 2024, DNSC participated in the 1st Quarter of the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED). All stakeholders, employees, and clienteles who were inside the campus premises performed basic earthquake protocols, such as duck, cover, hold, and followed evacuation routes.

After the NSED, personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Panabo City led a fire drill and Training on Fire Suppression. Fire Officer II Theus Noel Martinez and Fire Officer III Sanie Joy Balagulan elaborated on fire safety in households and workplaces.

The Student Emergency Response Team also tested their skills in a simulation exercise in rescuing injured individuals during strong earthquakes. The activities were facilitated by DNSC’s Disaster Resilience and Administration Committee (DRAC).
