PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College’s Bachelor of Public Administration program (DNSC-BPA) collaborated with the City Government of Panabo and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation for the conduct of “Pagpakanug: A Capability Building Program on Leadership and Good Governance”. This training event for SK officials in Panabo City took place on August 7, 2024, at the DNSC Gymnasium.
The event featured two sessions and brought together 380 elected and appointed SK officials and youth leaders from recognized organizations in Panabo City. The first session on Understanding Youth Issues and Developing Demand-Responsive Interventions was delivered by Ms. Joanaros Fahit, Community Affairs Coordinator at DNSC.
The second session focused on Fostering Nationalism and Volunteerism among Youth Leaders with Dr. Ronel Dagohoy, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension at the Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences, and Technology (KCAST), serving as the resource speaker.
Key officials who expressed their support for the program included Ms. Julienne Angel Capuyan, SK Federation President of Panabo City, and Hon. Jose E. Relampagos, City Mayor, represented by JM Relampagos. The attendees were welcomed by College President Joy M. Sorrosa and Extension Project Lead Glenne B. Lagura.
The event hopes to empower young leaders by capacitating them with knowledge and skills necessary for effective and adaptable governance and community service.
