PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College entered the Top 150 in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities in its July 2022 edition. The College ranked 234th in 2021, before leaping 81 spots in the first edition in 2022, and now attaining the 150th spot, its all-time high.

The Ranking Web is not just a ranking of the universities and colleges’ website but a ranking of higher education institutions based on three indicators; Visibility or Web Contents Impact, Transparency or Openness, and Excellence or Scholarship. The first indicator measures the number of external networks linking to the institution’s webpages, the second looks at the citations from top authors, while the third indicator focuses on the number of papers from the institution amongst the top 10% cited across disciplines.

The results are published twice a year and covers more than 31,000 Higher Education Institutions around the globe. The ranking body’s primary aim is to promote open access to knowledge. It is initiated by the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group from the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain.
